Dette arrangementet ble til etter å ha hørt Astor Piazzolla sin 1986- innspilling av sitt eget verk skrevet i 1965.
Bandoneon, fiolin og kontrabass har blitt til tre solister og brass band. Eb-kornett er hovedsolist og spiller bandoneon linjen. Solo Bb-kornett og trombone deler fiolinstemmen som en flørtende understemme til Eb-kornetten.
Det er umulig å notere solostemmene korrekt, så å lytte til albumet "Zero Hour" fra 1986 vil være en stor fordel for å få rett stemningen i verket.

Milonga del Angel
This arrangement was made after hearing Astor Piazzolla s 1986 recording of his own work written in 1965.
The original instrumentation of bandoneon, violin and string bass is here arranged for three wind soloists with Concert Band.
The Eb Cornet is the main soloist (filling the bandoneon role), while the trombone and Solo Bb Cornet shares the violin part as a kind of flirting undertone to the Eb Cornet.
It s not possible to make a 100% correct notation of the solo parts, so it s recommended to listen to the record album Zero Hour from 1986 to get the best impression of the work.

Sverre Stakston Olsrud
Sverre Stakston Olsrud er musiker og dirigent utdannet ved Norges Musikkhøgskole i Oslo. Han har en lang karriere som eufonist/trombonist i Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps. Han er nå dirigent for Hans Majestet Kongens Gardes Musikkorps.
Som musiker har hatt en solokarriere med fremføringer i store deler av Europa og USA. U.S.Army Band i Washington, de fleste norske militærkorps, Marinemusikken i Karlskrona, Royal Northern College of Music, Kristiansand Symfoniorkester m.m, samt deltagelse på mange festivaler. Mange verk har blitt komponert til han og han har mange uroppføringer. I 1995 holdt han den første debutkonsert på eufonium.
Som dirigent virker han i det norske amatør musikklivet og er for tiden dirigent i Opus82. Han har stor interesse for arrangering for korps og har arrangert mye for Forsvarets Musikk samt de korpsene han dirigerer.


Sverre Stakston Olsrud
Sverre Stakston Olsrud is a musician and conductor educated at The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. He has a long career as Euphonumist/Trombonist at the Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces. He is currently conductor for The Kings Guards Band in Oslo, Norway.
As musician, he has had a long soloist career all over Europe and the USA. In addition to solo performances with all the Norwegian Military Bands, he has also been soloist with US Army Band (Washington), The Royal Swedish Navy Band (Karlskrona), Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, England) and Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra. Many new works for Euphonium have been composed for him over the years. In 1995, he became the first musician in Norway to give a debut concert on Euphonium as solo instrument.
As conductor, he is active in the amateur music field. Currently he is conducting Norwegian top section band Opus82. He has a great interest in arranging music for band, and he has done many arrangements for the Norwegian Military Band and bands he's connected to as conductor.
