Øystein Sjøvaag Heimdal (1972)
Øystein er utdannet ved Universitetet i Oslo hvor han har hovedfag i musikkvitenskap. Her skrev han hovedoppgave om arrangering av pop- og rockemusikk for skolekorps. Han har også utdannelse innen komposisjon og arrangering fra samme sted.

I tillegg til å skrive musikk arbeider Øystein som dirigent, instruktør og trompetist. Han har dirigert skolekorps, amatørkorps og storband, og har også skrevet mye musikk for disse ensemblene.

Ambitions
was awarded with the norwegian ”grammy” - ”Spellemannsprisen” – as best song in 2009.  The group ”Donkeyboy” also received Spellemann as best New act and for best video.

Øystein holds a Master of Arts from the University of Oslo, where he worked extensively on composing, and mainly arrangements of pop and rock music for concert bands.

In addition to his writing, Øystein also practices music both as performing trumpeter, conductor and teacher. He has conducted young bands, concert bands and big bands, as well as writing music for these ensembles.
